Melissa Gibson“I’d always loved make-up,” Melissa Gibson recalls. “I was the kid in high school who probably wore a bit too much of it. It was baby-blue eye shadow with black eye liner. It was full on. But I look back now and I realize it was not such a bad job considering I had no lessons.” A photographer friend asked her to do the make-up for a fashion test, and when she saw the photo blown up life-sized in the front of a store, an idea was sparked. She took a make-up course and found it to be the perfect fit. Her first encounter with M.A.C. was 16 years ago, and within a year she had moved up from the counter to Creative Artist, going to a different store nearly every day to do make-up. “It was such a great training,” recalls Gibson. “There has to be a part of you that wants to connect with people. I love making people feel great and look beautiful.” Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009
