Oscar Winner Howard Berger Added as Keynote Speaker

Oscar winner Howard Berger has been announced as a keynote speaker for the first-ever Vancouver IMATS. Berger worked with Stan Winston on Predator and Aliens and Rick Baker on Harry and the Hendersons. In 1988, Berger and Gregory Nicotero formed their own studio, KNB EFX Group, Inc. in Los Angeles. KNB has worked on Dances with Wolves, Casino, the  Kill Bill films, Inglourious Basterds, Army of Darkness  and Sin City. Berger’s greatest challenge thus far has been adapting The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. It earned him a BAFTA for Best Makeup and an Academy Award® for Achievement in Makeup. Eddie Malter to be Keynote Speaker

Eddie Malter, the official make-up artist for L’Oréal Paris Canada, artistic director of Canada’s L’Oréal Fashion Week and department head on Canada’s Project Runway, has been announced as a keynote speaker for the first-ever Vancouver IMATS. Charles Porlier Announced as Keynote Speaker

Charles Porlier, the make-up department head on The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, has been announced as a keynote speaker for the first-ever Vancouver IMATS. Porlier won Emmys for his work on Door to Door as well as Kissinger and Nixon. In his 25-year career, Porlier has worked on The Santa Clause 2, Thirteen Ghosts, Mission to Mars, Double Jeopardy, Jumanji and X-Men 2. He was also the head of the Make-up Design program at Vancouver Film School. More guests will be announced soon, and a complete schedule will be posted on this site in the coming months.
